The International Association of Business Communicators Regina Chapter (IABC/Regina) proudly represents communications professionals based in Regina, Saskatchewan and surrounding area. We proudly hold more than 40 Accredited Business Communicators (ABC), internationally recognized leaders in our industry. Connecting through learning, networking and mentoring opportunities, our organization promotes ethical business communications standards, inspires a passion for learning and helps our members achieve communications excellence in their daily work. We are part of IABC, a global network of communication leaders operating in 70 countries.
IABC/Regina is committed to providing professional development opportunities year round. When you ask, we listen. All professional development workshops, luncheons and networking sessions hosted by IABC/Regina focus on topics that are relevant to our chapter members.
Lisa Adam, CMP
Lisa Adam has 20 years of communications experience in the government, non-profit and private sectors. She is currently leading the communications team at the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency as the Director of Communications.
Her passion for providing an excellent customer experience combined with her passion for health and wellness, drives her to promote health programs to patients, the general public, and health care providers.
Lisa studied at the University of Regina majoring in English and later focused her studies on public relations. She completed her Graduate Certificate in Professional Communications Management from Royal Roads University. Lisa also has formal training with the International Association for Public Participation and has her Prosci Change Management Certification.
She is also a past board member of the Canadian Public Relations Society and a long-standing member of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC).
Outside of work, you will find Lisa at the gym, reading, writing, or binge-watching something humorous on Netflix. Lisa is looking forward to being able to plan new travel adventures once the pandemic is over.
Jennifer Arends, ABC
Jennifer leads a team of skilled and creative communications professionals as the Executive Director of Communications and Stakeholder Relations at 3sHealth. Jennifer is passionate about collaboration and teamwork, and she works hard to build strong relationships with partner organizations across the health system. Since childhood, Jennifer Arends has had a deep love for reading and writing. She holds a Master of Arts in English, a Master’s Certificate of Administration in leadership, Saskatchewan Healthcare Management System and Saskatchewan (healthcare) Leadership Program training certificates, and the Accredited Business Communicator (ABC) designation from the International Association of Business Communicators. Outside of work, you will most likely find her paddling, skiing, rock climbing, spinning some vinyl, or attending a hockey game with her partner and children.

Julie is an experienced and energetic communicator. She is currently the Director of Communications for the Law Society of Saskatchewan, where she manages strategic communications, marketing and stakeholder engagement. Her communications experience includes managing marketing campaigns for the Ottawa Business Journal and running communications for the Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacists. Her passion for writing and technology has led her to a successful freelance writing career, covering business, law and technology for trade publications for more than 10 years. In her spare time, she’s reading a good book after her daily yoga session.

Paula Kohl, ABC
Paula has been involved with IABC Regina at various points through her career, with her recent contributions as Certification Chair. She contributed to the launch of Certification and has been the contact for IABC Regina members ever since. Paula previously held board positions from 2005 to 2008 and was a mentor in the 2014 Mentorship Challenge. Paula achieved her Accredited Business Communicator designation in 2011.
Paula currently holds the position of Director, Corporate Communication at FCC, where she leads the internal, media relations and linguistic services teams. In her previous position as Director, Marketing and Communication at Regina Exhibition Association Limited (operator of Evraz Place), Paula was part of the opening of Mosaic Stadium and the International Trade Centre. She also oversaw public engagement and the early stages of a multi-year strategy that will see Evraz Place evolve into a vibrant entertainment district. Prior to this, Paula led an award-winning team of communicators at SaskPower as their Manager of External Communication.
A good TV show paired with popcorn and an oaky Chardonnay in the proper wine glass are Paula's true pleasures in life. She is currently studying Level 3 of the Wine and Spirit Education Trust certification program, which is like becoming a sommelier but without serving people in a restaurant setting. Her retirement goal is to be a wine educator and communicator in the Okanagan. Wine and communication truly are the perfect pairing!
IABC/Regina is always looking for volunteers either for individual projects and initiatives, or to participate on the Board of Directors and be part of our chapters rich 40-year history of communication leaders. We want to leverage your skills for the benefit of all members, while providing you with an unparalleled leadership and communication development experience. We accept communicators at all experience levels. Whether you are a student, new to the field, or want to build on existing strengths, IABC/Regina is open to working with those who show a considerable level of dedication and hard work.
